My Journey of Love and Hope with #HIVKids 🌟

It all began in 2014, when I first visited a group of HIV-positive children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. That day, we donated bicycles 🚲 to them—simple gifts. It was a simple gesture, yet it had a profound impact on me. Behind those smiling faces 😊, I sensed a deeper need—a need beyond physical donations. It was a profound realization that these children, often treated as untouchables by society, needed much more than just material things. They needed acceptance, care, guidance, and above all, love ❤️.
At the time, there weren't many donors or volunteers supporting these kids. Sadly, about 90% of these children were orphans without anyone to care for them or guide them toward a better future. 💔 It was this heartbreaking reality that motivated something deep within me. I knew I wanted—needed—to do more. Seeing their situation motivated me to take a step forward and make a difference. This became my mission.

Over the years, we have carried out numerous activities to improve their lives:
📚 We enrolled them in good private schools to ensure they received quality education.
📝 To support their education further, we arranged daily tuition classes, making sure they had assistance with their homework and schoolwork.
🍎 Apart from education, we focused on their health and basic needs. Provided #NutritiousFood, 👕 proper #Clothing, 🎒 school uniforms, and 🏥 regular #Healthcare checkups
🎉 Celebrations filled our calendars, from Diwali to Christmas and Eid—every festival was an opportunity to bond, share joy, and create memories as a family and brining us all closer.💞
But what truly set our journey apart was the emphasis on spending time together ⏰, more than just giving material support.Unlike other volunteers who visited occasionally to donate items, we chose to donate ourselves—our time, our attention, our care. We talked, laughed, and learned together. This regular interaction helped build strong relationships and trust. We continuously educated the children about managing their health—taking medicines on time, eating well, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This nurturing environment not only improved their physical health but also uplifted their emotional well-being🌈.

Our core goal remained clear: to empower these children towards self-sustainability 💪. Therefore, we emphasized vocational training alongside formal education. By equipping them with valuable skills necessary to secure jobs, we aimed to ensure that when they became adults, they would confidently build their futures without reliance on external aid.
Today, I look back with gratitude 🙏 and pride. These children, once neglected and isolated, now hold dreams ✨ and ambitions 🚀and a clear path to a better future. They aspire to careers, to independence, to lives filled with dignity and respect. It brings me immense satisfaction to see these children grow into confident and capable individuals.

This journey has been life-changing—not only for the children but profoundly for me as well. Despite the progress, the harsh reality is that the HIV-positive community in India continues to face stigma and discrimination, often being treated as untouchable. Witnessing their spirit and courage in the face of these challenges deeply inspires me every day 💖. It fuels my determination to advocate for their dignity, acceptance, and rightful place in society.
Together, we continue to walk this path 🚶♂️🚶♀️, hand in hand 🤝, hearts united ❤️ by the shared dream of a brighter, healthier future 🌍.
